From Bourbon County, KY, Sarah is a graduate of Emory University where she received her BA in Political Science. In 2007, she received her JD from New York Law School.  Following law school, Sarah worked for a period with a safety group negotiating worker’s compensation claims in NY. Her love of Kentucky, however, called her home to a career as a public defender with the Department of Public Advocacy.  There she developed her litigation skills through a variety of criminal cases from juvenile court to death penalty offenses.

Sarah and her son, Tommy, love camping, hiking, and spoiling their boxer, Marlon Brando. In her spare time, Sarah sings and plays mandolin for Stoner Creek Shakedown and she enjoys making stained glass.
